Today I read an aphorism that stuck with me : Advertising is a legalized form of lying.
It reminded me about another pithy quote I had heard years ago : If there are twelve clowns in a ring, you can jump in the middle and start reciting Shakespeare, but to the audience, you’ll just be the thirteenth clown.
Mr.Rare Honest CEO/Marketing Head : Understand that every time another company jumps into the mass media circus ring with another bag of lies and dishonest exaggeration, the consumer gets just a tad more sardonic and cynical about ALL marketing and advertisements.
So please do not just ignore and snicker at dishonest and crummy ads by the others. Your substantial marketing investment is at risk of being labelled that 13th clown.
